FROM THE WORKSHOP ·
The road to
March 2027.
A free Bufus Games framework. Human-made artwork. More games to build together.
Pull up a chair. Here’s what I’m working toward.
Only the Bufus Games core module will be released for free. Grab It! Let’s Go! (GILG), including its own game-specific core rules, is a separate paid game. Like all other Bufus Games games, GILG is built on the Bufus Games framework. Our games, expansions, game cards, and other products build on that shared foundation. Those additional products will be the focus of a crowdfunding campaign targeted for March 2027, and I'd like you to see how we get there.
First, the free Bufus Games core module.
I'm compiling what we've played and learned into a clear, consistent working edition. That means bringing the rules together, working through examples, and identifying anything that still needs another pass at the table. I'll share sample material as it becomes ready, along with explanations of what's changed and why.
When the Bufus Games core module is released, it will be available free. I'll announce its release date separately as the work progresses.
Alongside that, the artwork.
Human-made artwork is part of the work ahead. I plan to share sketches, works in progress, and finished pieces as they become available, so you can follow the creative process as well as the rules development.
A closer seat at the table.
I'm also planning a supporter community, either on Patreon or through a dedicated members area on the website. The benefits I'm developing include special pre-release access, Advance Review Copies, votes on selected development choices, opportunities to offer guidance, and acknowledgment in the finished products. I'll explain exactly what each option includes before membership opens. Community input will help shape the work, with final creative and production decisions staying with Bufus Games.
Membership will be an optional way to follow and participate more closely. Access to the released Bufus Games core module will be free.
Getting ready for March.
The proposed roadmap moves from rules and artwork this winter to early-reader feedback, then campaign preparation in February. The campaign will focus on games, expansions, game cards, and other products built on the core framework. Before opening crowdfunding, I want a clear campaign scope, practical rewards, and credible production estimates. March 2027 is the campaign target; delivery dates for its products will be announced separately.
In future updates, I'll show what moved forward, what's still in progress, and what comes next. If the schedule changes, I'll explain why.
Thanks for being here while these games take shape.
